Important things you need to know

What you need for Home Wireless Broadband

  1. If you have any medi-alert alarms, Back to Base alarms or EFTPOS terminals, contact your provider to make sure they'll work on a 4G Fixed Wireless broadband service.

    TPG doesn't offer Priority Assistance.
  2. Check 4G coverage at your address and choose your plan.

    Important: Home Wireless Broadband is only for use at the address nominated on your order.
  3. Your Home Wireless Broadband modem will be delivered in 2-5 business days. You can plug it in straight away and get online.

    You must use our modem with Home Wireless Broadband. The SIM won't work in other devices.
  4. Home Wireless Broadband doesn't include a phone service, so make sure you have another phone service like a mobile.

    For eligible existing TPG customers, our Virtual Phone feature can forward calls to a Standard Australian landline or mobile number. Learn more.

When Home Wireless Broadband might not be right for you

You need to use port forwarding, hosting, remote access or Smart Home systems

Heads up for techy types: Home Wireless Broadband uses Carrier-grade Network Address Translation (CG-NAT) which assigns services with a private IP address instead of a dynamic public IP address. Our network will then translate that private address into a public address. This means that stuff that depends on internal NAT won’t work on Home Wireless Broadband, including:

  • Port forwarding
  • Hosting web, email or file servers internally
  • Smart Home systems (e.g. accessing security camera footage remotely, home automation and printers)
  • Remote Access (i.e. accessing your home computer or devices from another location)

You play multiplayer shooting games or battle MMORPGs

Home Wireless Broadband may not be suitable for online gaming due to its higher connection latency, which is the amount of time it takes for data packets to go from one place to another on an internet connection. Low latency is important for ultra-time-sensitive stuff like multiplayer shooting games or battle MMORPGs.

Info for Existing TPG Customers

What is Virtual Phone?

If you have an existing TPG Voice phone service, you can set up Virtual Phone when you order Home Wireless Broadband.

Virtual Phone lets you:

  • Forward all incoming calls to another Standard Australian landline or mobile number; and
  • Keep your existing phone number, should you later wish to switch back to nbn or switch your phone service to another provider.

Virtual Phone can't be used to make calls. You can change the Call Forwarding number in My Account by selecting Virtual Phone.

It's not possible to set up Virtual Phone after Home Wireless Broadband has been ordered.

How does the 7-day trial for existing TPG nbn® customers work?

  1. Once you're connected to Home Wireless Broadband, your existing TPG nbn service will stay connected for 7 days.
  2. If you're not happy with Home Wireless Broadband, you can call us to switch back to nbn during the 7-day trial.
  3. If we haven't heard from you after 7 days, your nbn service will be automatically disconnected. Reconnection fees may apply after 7 days.
    If you choose to keep your nbn service connected beyond the 7-day trial, the monthly nbn plan fee will continue to apply.

Excess Data Fee

It's not possible to accrue any excess data charges with Home Wireless Broadband.

Moving Home Fee

Moving to a new address? Home Wireless Broadband is only for use at the address nominated on your order, so you'll need to contact us to move your TPG service.

The type of TPG internet service may change based on what's available at your new address.

Cancellation Fee

You can cancel your Home Wireless Broadband service by contacting us.

Cancellation Fee - No lock-in contract $0

Modem Non-Return Fee (NRF)

This fee is charged if you withdraw your order or cancel your Home Wireless Broadband service within the first 24 months and do not return the Home Wireless Broadband modem to us in Good Working Order within 21 days. You must use the prepaid consignment we send you for your return.

NRF for new modem (RRP $192) $8 per month remaining in first 24 months (maximum $192)*
NRF for refurbished modem $0^

*Example: If you cancel after 18 months, the NRF would be $8 x 6 months = $48.
^TPG retains ownership of refurbished modems so they must be returned to TPG within 21 days of cancellation/withdrawal.

50% off mobile plan fees for first six months

For new TPG mobile connections only. 50% off TPG SIM Only mobile plan standard monthly fees for your first 6 months. Eligible plans: Available on Small 25GB, Medium 50GB and Large 100GB TPG SIM Only Mobile plans. Offer duration: Must stay connected continuously on chosen plan for first 6 months.
