Tropical Cyclone Alfred
Update as at 1:45pm 10th March
Power outages from the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred are continuing to cause network disruptions in Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW.
Our teams are working with emergency services and power providers to restore connectivity services as soon as it is safe to do so.
We have deployed all our available generators and restored more than 40 sites overnight, but ongoing power issues continue to disrupt connectivity in affected regions.
There is currently a loss of power to 203 mobile sites across Southeast Queensland and Northern NSW. While key sites are operating on battery backup, there are currently 30 sites without overlapping coverage.
Sites without overlapping coverage are located in the following postcodes: 4551, 4521, 4520, 4352, 4285, 4272, 4228, 4223, 4217, 4216, 4208, 4207, 4184, 4183, 4165, 4157, 4128, 4030, 4025, 2485, 2484, 2479.
Services impacted by power outages are likely to restore once mains power is back.

How to stay connected
Here are our top three tips to help you stay connected:
- Power up. Make sure your mobile devices and portable battery packs are fully charged so you can access information and call emergency services. If you live in a remote area, consider a generator for long-lasting backup power.
- Listen up. Stay alert to updates and news for your affected area. The ABC, Australia’s national emergency broadcaster, provides critical information. A battery-powered radio is a great backup if mobile or internet services are disrupted.
- Back-up. Upload important documents and personal records – including identification, insurance and financial records – in the cloud, on an external hard drive, or print them and keep them with you.
